Biography

Dr Chiara Herzog is a 2024 King’s Prize Fellow based in the Department of Twin Research & Genetic Epidemiology, School of Life Course & Population Sciences. Her research focuses on identifying new biomarkers that can capture environmental exposures and stratify individuals based on their risk for age-related diseases, particularly through epigenetics. Her efforts have led to multiple high-impact publications, numerous awards, and a clinically available test for uterine cancer. As an Executive Committee Member of the Biomarkers of Aging Consortium, she is dedicated to promoting the standardisation of ageing biomarkers to enhance their clinical utility. She will investigate causal molecular changes linked to ageing and disease, utilising data from both population-based studies and cellular models. She is a member of the Ageing Research at King's (ARK) Advisory Board.
