Biography
Project Title: An examination of the 1997 decision to grant operational independence to the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of England

Chetun Patel is a PhD Student in Banking & Finance at King's Business School. His academic interests lie in economic and applied history. He tries to understand how government works from the perspective of policymakers and institutions, particularly during times of crisis and change.
Chetun is a seminar teacher on the undergraduate course 'Prime Ministers and Leadership since Thatcher: Theory and Practice'. He also teaches on the postgraduate course entitled 'The Treasury and an Introduction to Economic History - in partnership with the HM Treasury'.
Chetun also teaches at the Treasury providing a day on the history of their institution. Previously, he was a senior trader at JP Morgan on the proprietary desk in both London and New York City.
