Biography

Dr Carolyn Horst obtained her undergraduate degree in History of Art and Architecture from Harvard University, before moving to the UK and switching careers to study medicine at University College London. After completing her MBBS, Carolyn began Clinical Radiology training, taking time out of training to complete her PhD (again at UCL) in low-dose CT for lung cancer screening. Previously an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow, Carolyn is now an NIHR Clinical Lecturer in the Cancer Imaging Group, focussing on cutting-edge technology and data interpretation methods for thoracic imaging, whilst completing her Clinical Radiology training at Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. She is a Deputy Editor for Images in Radiology, a past chair of the British Society of Thoracic Imaging trainee committee, and a member of the BMEIS Public Engagement Committee.
