Biography
Camilla Kristensen obtained her first degree in Psychology at the University of Greenwich followed by an MSc in Health Psychology at King’s College London. Her postgraduate project examined the impact of a diabetes diagnosis on psychosocial wellbeing. She then worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience at King’s College London, investigating psychological treatment approaches in the management of chronic fatigue syndrome.
She subsequently commenced her PhD in October 2021 supervised by Professor Mark Ide, Professor Angus Forbes, and Professor Koula Asimakopoulou, and funded by FODOCS. The project is focused on developing an oral health intervention for women with gestational diabetes, using health psychology and behaviour change techniques. The outcome of the project will be an evidence-based tool for healthcare professionals working in diabetes to implement oral health care.
Research
Centre for Host-Microbiome Interactions

Researchers in the Centre for Host Microbiome Interactions study our relationship with these bacteria and fungi in health or in oral and systemic diseases such as periodontitis, candidiasis, oral cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.
Cultures of Oral Health Research Group
We are a team of researchers who take a sociological approach to the study of oral health.
