Biography
I am a Senior Lecturer in Public Health Education and Programme Director for the Master of Public Health (MPH) at King's. I completed my MPH at Maastricht University (2003), in the Netherlands, before joining the University of Portsmouth (2004-2019) as a Senior Lecturer in Health Sciences, where I taught on a number of undergraduate pre-registration allied health programmes, as well as leading the undergraduate Human Physiology programme. In 2012 I completed my PhD in medical sociology, in the sociology of health professions and the sociology of complementary and alternative medicine. In later research projects I studied academisation as a professional strategy in paramedic practice in England (2018), and acupuncturists in higher education in the UK (2021). I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
