Biography

Mary joined King’s College London on the 1st of December 2023 as a part of the NIHR Bioresource group (Nanopore team).  

She obtained a B.Sc. in Microbiology and a Master’s degree in Virology after which she worked with the 54gene COVID laboratory in setting up and managing the COVID labs in Ogun and Ekiti State Nigeria. She gained experience here in techniques such as RNA Extraction (Manual and Automated, RT-qPCR, Result Analysis, LIMS etc).  

She resumed a new role in June 2021 as a Genetics Scientist on the Nigeria 100K Genome Project in the Genotyping Team of 54gene where she garnered more experience in techniques such as; DNA/RNA Extraction, Illumina Genotyping, Automated Liquid Handling Systems and Quality Control.  

Since her resumption at King’s Genomics on the NIHR project, she has gained more experience in Nanopore Sequencing, Sample processing and Quality Control.
