Biography

Archie Sage is currently undertaking his PhD in the Department of Informatics at King’s College London. His research focuses on applying machine learning and natural language processing techniques to existing therapeutic cognitive classifications, aiming to more accurately identify and map recurring thought patterns over time. His work has potential downstream implications in both mental health and finance.

Prior to starting his PhD, Archie earned a first class honours degree in Computer Science, with a specialisation in Artificial Intelligence, from King’s College London. It is during this time, his third-year work on static program analysis laid the foundation for a shift in his interest - from formal to natural language, eventually leading to the pursuit of his current research.

Outside of academia, he is working towards membership with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), having completed his final Level 4 Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) exam in October 2024. Based in London, he splits his spare time between freelance software development - primarily on lightweight industrial order processing systems - and managing thinkstudent, an online community where students contribute articles on a range of topics relating to the UK education system.
