Supervisor: Professor Katie Bailey, Dr Wei-Ning Yang

Year of Entry: 2020, full-time

Anna Lelia is an Organisational Psychologist who has been awarded a full PhD scholarship for her doctoral research. Her research interests lie in the concept of purpose in organisations, and its role in contributing to meaningful work for employees and sustainable development at the organisational level. In collaboration with the multinational construction company Laing O'Rourke, which contributes to her funding, Anna Lelia investigates whether an organisation's purpose and strategy can increase employees' experiences of meaningfulness. Meaningful work has been associated with higher levels of employee engagement, motivation, innovation and well-being.

At King's College London, Anna Lelia has taught tutorials and seminars on Undergraduate courses such as Organisational Behaviour, International Human Resource Management and Business Ethics and Sustainability.

Anna Lelia holds a Bsc in Psychology from King's College London and MSc in Organisational and Social Psychology from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She is a member of the British Psychological Society. After an internship in Management Consulting firm Spencer Stuart and taking part in the Principal's Global Leadership Award at King's College London, she developed a passion for understanding human behaviour in organisations. During her Master's programme, she wrote her thesis on "Making Sense of Meaningful Work Experiences in Investment Banking."

Alongside her PhD, Anna Lelia works as a researcher and project manager for the Meaning and Purpose Network, supported by the Innovation Fund. The network aims to create more ethical, inclusive and sustainable futures for organisations through partnership and knowledge sharing between academics and practitioners. Her responsibilities include conducting research in partner organisations for case studies, writing articles and literature reviews, running podcasts, and managing the delivery of workshops for member organisations.
