Biography
Anna is a postdoctoral researcher in the lab of Dr Katelyn Spillane. Their group is affiliated with the Department of Physics (Biological and Soft Matter group) and the Randal Centre for Cell and Molecular Biophysics.
Before coming to London Anna did her PhD in Dresden, in the group of Professor Elisabeth Knust, Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, studying the interplay between cell polarity, adhesion and actomyosin in the developing embryonic epithelium (skin) of a fruit fly.
Research interests
- Mechanical forces in cell fate decisions
- Quantitative imaging approaches
- Signal transduction/ mechanotransduction
- Interplay between the chemical and mechanical cues in immune and epithelial cell biology
