PhD research
Anja's thesis title is Investigating teachers' practices incorporating music to aid language learning.
Principal supervisor: Professor Beatrice Szczepek Reed
Secondary supervisor: Dr Martin Dewey
The research project focuses on teachers' practices including music in language teaching, engaging with older learners in the London area. Factors responsible for the decision-making, resources available and teacher engagement with music outside the classroom are explored to show potential connections.
The project features data collected from questionnaires and interviews highlighting reflections of teachers who are currently using music and thus bridging the gap between music and language education.
