Andrea joined the Centre for Education in September 2024 as Reader in Education Innovation and Research. Her role focuses on supporting staff in the Faculty with current educational innovation and research projects and working collaboratively with staff and students to develop new ideas, aligning her role with the KCL strategic intention to achieve parity between educational and research excellence. Andrea has a professional background in nursing and previously worked in the Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care at KCL as Associate Dean for Assessment and Teaching. She holds a Doctor in Education from University College London and is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE.

Andrea's research interests focus on assessment and feedback in higher education and interventions to reduce the awarding gap. She has also led collaborative projects across London to develop innovative solutions to increase placement opportunities for students. One of her recent projects, to develop a student advocate role to support students at risk of leaving healthcare programmes, won a London Higher Award in 2024 in the outstanding support for student wellbeing category.
