Biography

Aina has 9 years of working experience under the Ministry of Health Malaysia as a dentist and dental public health officer. She obtained her master’s degree from King’s College London in 2020 and was awarded Associate of King’s College (AKC) in 2021.

In 2022, Aina was offered a scholarship by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and Universiti Malaya to pursue PhD and she is currently working under the main supervision of Professor Jenny Gallagher. Her PhD work focuses on life course research and longitudinal data analysis.

Centre for Host-Microbiome Interactions

Millions of microorganisms live in and on our bodies forming microbiomes on different surfaces. Researchers in the Centre for Host Microbiome Interactions study our relationship with these bacteria and fungi in health or in oral and systemic diseases such as periodontitis, candidiasis, oral cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.
