Biography
Abby joined the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Addictions group in April 2024 as a Public and Patient Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) researcher.
Prior to this post Abby has six years worth of experience in clinical trials working in sexual health, HIV, and other infectious disease research where she developed an interest how people living with HIV, patients, and members of the public shaped the research being done today.
She completed her MSc in Health Psychology at UCL in 2017 with her dissertation focusing on developing behaviour change questionnaire based on the COM-B model which aimed to pinpoint the main 'blockage' to behaviour change. Prior to this, she completed a MSc at Maastricht university looking at the effectiveness of fear appeals on alcohol products to reduce alcohol consumption.
