Outreach

We run engaging STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) activities and events for school students, teachers and our local community.

Our scientists, engineers and students love to share their work – and their passion! Through our outreach programmes, we create spaces and opportunities for everyone to engage with STEM, and explore what life and work is like at university.

We offer different programmes and events, including work experience, schools lectures, competitions and teacher conferences. Keep up to date with everything we’ve got available, by signing up to our teacher bulletin.

STEM Lectures for Schools

Come along to our monthly STEM Lectures for Schools, to explore the amazing STEM research taking place here at King’s! The fascinating topics covered in these talks will take you beyond what you're taught in the classroom, showcasing just some of the ideas you might study in a STEM degree at university. At each event, a different speaker will highlight the ground-breaking work they do, as well as exploring their personal journey in STEM.

STEM Work experience

Are you a Year 10 student interested in a career in STEM? Then apply to take part in our STEM work experience week, which runs in July each year. You will be visiting laboratories, talking to scientists and engineers, and getting stuck into interactive STEM workshops. Over the course of the week, you'll explore a wide range of research taking place at King’s, and have the chance to complete your own mini research project too.
