Having left India myself to pursue post-graduate studies, I am delighted that King’s can offer the same opportunity to others through the Vice-Chancellor’s awards. My recent visit to India reaffirmed our decision to offer these scholarships for a second year. Speaking to students and alumni, I was struck by their passion and the immense potential of their talent when combined with the experience King’s can provide.

The Vice-Chancellor's Awards launch for second year
Professor Shitij Kapur, Vice-Chancellor & President of King’s, has announced a second year of the scholarship scheme for PGT students domiciled in India.

The awards, which are open to Indian-domiciled students studying a postgraduate degree, form part of King’s commitment to advance world-leading education and serve the needs of society by addressing challenges with local, national and global impact.
The Vice-Chancellor announced the second round of awards at an event at the All India Institute Of Medical Sciences, in New Delhi last week, which is where he originally trained.
Successful applicants, who will receive a £10,000 fee waiver, will demonstrate how they aspire to use the skills and knowledge gained during their studies to enhance and benefit society.
Applications are open for 30 students starting full-time, on-campus postgraduate study starting in September 2025, in the faculties of Life Sciences and Medicine (FoLSM); The Dickson Poon School of Law (DPSoL); Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences (NMES); King’s Business School (KBS); Social Science & Public Policy (SSPP); Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN); Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care and Arts & Humanities.
I aspire to make meaningful contributions to society by driving innovation and improving healthcare outcomes. Whether through developing novel therapies or advocating for equitable access to healthcare, I am committed to making a tangible difference in people's lives by eradicating suffering caused by illness.
