SUSTech Joint Education Institute (JEI): student recruitment begins
The joint MBBS programme being developed as part of SUSTech - King's Joint Education Institute (JEI) has now been successfully reviewed by the UK General Medical Council (GMC) following a week-long virtual site visit.
The joint MBBS has been added to the GMC’s list of the “Overseas programmes under review” and the JEI can now begin to recruit students.
The JEI will be based on the SUSTech campus in Shenzhen and will initially deliver three joint programmes - an MBBS in Medicine, a BSc in Biomedical Science, and a BEng in Biomedical Engineering – starting from September 2023. Teaching will be delivered by academic staff from both partner institutions, including full-time King’s posts seconded to China and short-term flexible posts drawn from within existing King’s faculty.
The lead King’s post in China - the Executive Dean - has been recruited, along with three Programme Leads, all of whom will spend time at King’s in London before starting work on the programmes in Shenzhen.
If you have any specific questions - including questions about teaching opportunities - please contact the Project Manager, Julie Radcliffe.
