Sabrina Bajwah appointed to Health and Social Care Committee Independent Expert Panel
Sabrina is among five palliative care specialists appointed.

The Health and Social Care Committee is a cross-party effort scrutinising the work of the Department of Health and Social Care and its associated public bodies. They examine government policy, spending and administration on behalf of the electorate and House of Commons.
Dr Sabrina Bajwah joined the Committee on 5 March 2025 as a palliative care expert appointed to the Independent Experts Panel, working as it undertakes an evaluation into the state of palliative care in England.
The Expert Panel was created to conduct independent evaluations of Government commitments in different areas of healthcare policy and enhance Committee scrutiny of the Government. Each evaluation leads to a published Report.
Dr Bajwah continued, 'This urgent issue cannot be ignored, and through my role, I will strive to keep it at the forefront of the government’s agenda, pushing for meaningful action and lasting change.'
Dr Sabrina Bajwah is a Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Department of Palliative Care, Policy & Rehabilitation (King’s College London) and an Honorary Palliative Care Consultant at King’s College Hospital. Her research interests include interstitial lung disease, different models of palliative care and racial inequality. Over the last decade, she has raised awareness of palliative care needs, improved delivery of clinical care, and reduced patient distress. Her research has been influential in driving forward improvement in patient clinical care nationally and internationally. She is a passionate egalitarian and drives forward Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in all aspects of her clinical and academic work.
