I was honoured to give a speech upon receiving this award, where I emphasised that this recognition is not just for me, but also for the many wonderful colleagues, clinical psychology trainees and research students I’ve had the privilege of working with over the years.

Emeritus Professor Robin Morris receives International Neuropsychological Society Distinguished Career Award
The award was presented to Professor Morris at the International Neuropsychological Society (INS) annual meeting in New Orleans in February 2025.

Robin Morris is Emeritus Professor at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King’s College London and Honorary Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The INS Distinguished Career Award recognises his major, sustained contributions to the field of neuropsychology as well as to the INS.
Throughout his career Professor Morris has authored or co-authored over 350 scientific papers in neuropsychology. He has supervised many PhD students and trained around 80 clinical psychology trainees in clinical neuropsychology.
He has been awarded numerous awards recognising his impact in the field of neuropsychology research and teaching, including the Barbara Wilson Award (2013), British Psychological Society Lifetime Achievement Award for Applied Psychology (2016), Lammy Lasting Impact Award (2018) and INS Paul Satz Mentoring Award (2021).
Since his retirement in 2018, he has continued to be active in research and teaching. During this time, he has published around 70 papers and teaches clinical neuropsychology on the IoPPN’s Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
This year, Professor Morris is celebrating 35 years of being a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the IoPPN. 2025 also marks 30 years since the formation of the King's College Hospital Clinical Neuroscience Centre, in which national neurosciences in the Maudsley Hospital and regional neurosciences were amalgamated within King's College Hospital NHS Trust and the IoPPN to form a world-leading centre for basic and clinical neuroscience. Professor Morris led the clinical neuropsychology component and was, for many years, prominent in heading up clinical services, research and teaching.
Professor Morris is a world-renowned clinician, researcher and teacher in neuropsychology. Under his leadership, King’s College Hospital established and delivered state-of-the-art clinical neuropsychology services, which were underpinned by his extensive research programme at the IoPPN. This wonderful award is a well-earned recognition of his remarkable career and contributions to the field.
