Professor Michael Escudier has today been announced as the Executive Dean for the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences (FoDOCS) at King’s.
Professor Escudier has held the role as Interim Executive Dean for the past seven months and will officially begin his five-year tenure on 1 May 2022.
Professor Escudier has been at King’s for over 30 years, both as a student and a valued member of staff. He was a dental undergraduate at Guy’s Dental Hospital before completing a medical degree at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and then returning to King’s in 1994. He subsequently completed his oral medicine specialist training and was appointed Honorary Consultant to Guy’s and St Thomas’ Trust (GSTT) in 2003 where he continues to deliver direct patient care, within general and specialist oral medicine clinics. I am delighted and honoured to be appointed the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences particularly at a time of such opportunity for the faculty and King’s. I look forward to continuing to work with our incredible students, clinical, academic, research and professional services staff to shape a successful future for all.
