New Workforce Panel at the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Health and Social Care Workforce
We are seeking members to join our new Health and Social Care Workforce Panel
Are you interested in contributing to research that explores policy-related questions about the health and social care workforce?
We are seeking members of the health and social care workforce who would bring a range of perspectives, experiences and skills to our work. We are interested in involving both (currently and previously) registered and unregistered members of the workforce from a range of staff groups across both sectors. We are grateful to Lyn Romeo, former Chief Social Worker for Adults, for agreeing to chair the Workforce Panel.
The appointment to our Health and Social Care Workforce Panel is for a year in the first instance, with an option to continue until December 2028. The Unit’s work covers England, and we welcome applications to the Workforce Panel only from people working in England. There will be a launch event to welcome new members, and a chance to meet the researchers, on 10 December 2024, 3.30-5.30pm at King’s College London.
Message from Unit Director, Annette Boaz
“We are really looking forward to establishing a Workforce Panel to support the work of the Health and Social Care Workforce Research Unit. Over the years the Unit’s programme of research has benefited from the contributions of our Public Contributor Involvement and Engagement Advisory Group. The Workforce Panel will be complementary – providing us with opportunities to connect directly with members of the health and social care workforce as we plan, conduct and disseminate our research. We hope this will be an attractive opportunity for members of the workforce with an interest in research to engage with and shape a significant programme of research focused on the health and social care workforce. Come and join us!” — Annette Boaz, Director of the Policy Research Unit in Health and Social Care Workforce, King's College London.
