Dr Julia Philippou to assume new role from 2 September 2024.
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Julia Philippou as Interim Vice Dean International for the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care. This is an interim position starting on 2 September.
Julia is a Reader in nursing education, committed to advancing global health workforce education and development. She has been instrumental in expanding King’s global reach by launching its first-degree programme outside London. This pioneering initiative now attracts over 150 international students annually, significantly enhancing King’s international presence and influence.
Julia designs and implements strategically targeted international initiatives fostering a culture of excellence in care, aligning with King’s mission to drive positive change worldwide.
I am delighted that Dr Julia Phillippou will take up the interim role of Vice Dean International. Julia brings enormous experience in developing, delivering and monitoring high quality overseas education. The work she has done to date for our Faculty has ensured that students in Asia can access a high standard King's College London degree through online learning and flying KCL Faculty. This has been achieved through our ongoing, ground-breaking partnership with the Ngee Ann Academy. We are delighted that in 2024-2025, this partnership expanded to offer a new MSc Clinical Nursing. I am excited to see the future opportunities that will develop under Julia's leadership.
