New Psychology and Criminology BSc launched at King's College London

The degree, which will explore the application of psychological sciences and criminology to a variety of contemporary social challenges, is open for registration and will commence in September 2025.

A new BSc in Psychology and Criminology has been launched at King’s. The course will have its first intake of students in September 2025 and is currently open for registration.

The degree, drawing upon expertise from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) and The Dickson Poon School of Law (DPSoL), will give students a unique opportunity to understand the psychological sciences and the theories and practices of criminology.

Students will develop a strong understanding of theory, research, and practice in core areas of psychology and criminology, as well as learning how the disciplines interrelate and how they are applied in real-world contexts. Students on this course will also develop their critical knowledge in relation to a variety of pertinent issues, including crime and deviance, criminal behaviour, justice systems, and wider responses to contemporary crime problems.

This exciting and innovative new programme draws together the disciplines of psychology and criminology to critically examine their individual and collective contributions to our understanding of human behaviour, crime, and the workings of criminal justice systems and agencies.

As this undergraduate course draws upon the established expertise of the IoPPN and DPSoL. students will have access to world-class researchers and practitioners in the fields of psychology, law, and criminology, as well as state of the art facilities and technologies, placement and study abroad options.

King's College London is the only London Russell Group University to offer this degree. The course is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), who have highlighted areas of particular strength in the course, including the emphasis on research-led teaching, our modules for developing employability skills, and the wide range of discipline-specific opportunities, placements and internships that are available for students.
