New book examines rise of start-ups in Asia
A forthcoming book authored by King’s academics will examine the rise and evolution of start-up businesses in east Asia.
In Startup Capitalism, Professor Ramon Pacheco Pardo and Dr Robyn Klingler-Vidra explore how start-ups have forged a place in contemporary East Asian economies, looking closely at their roles as both disruptors and resources for big businesses.
Prof Pacheco Pardo (Department of European and International Studies) and Dr Klingler-Vidra (King’s Business School) also shed light on the evolution of government policies aimed at start-ups in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and China, with a rapid acceleration in support in the last few decades.
The book, published by Cornell University Press, is due for release in the spring. For more information about the book or to order an advance copy, visit: Startup Capitalism.
