Professor Matthew Hotopf appointed Deputy Executive Director at King's Health Partners and Chief Academic Officer for South London and Maudsley
Through his new roles, Professor Hotopf will play critical role to create opportunities for effective clinical academic integration across KHP's partners.
Professor Matthew Hotopf CBE has been appointed Deputy Executive Director at King’s Health Partners (KHP) and Chief Academic Officer for South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
Matthew is a Professor of General Hospital Psychiatry, a consultant liaison psychiatrist, and Executive Dean at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King's College London. He has been awarded a CBE for services to Psychiatric Research and the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine’s 2016 Wayne Katon Research Award. He is also a NIHR Senior Investigator and Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences.
Through his new roles as Deputy Executive Director at KHP and Chief Academic Officer for South London and Maudsley, Matthew will play a critical role in working with Professor Graham Lord, KHP’s Executive Director and Chief Academic Officer for King’s College London, to create opportunities for effective clinical academic integration across KHP's partners. He will also play a vital role in ensuring mental health and an integrated mind and body approach to healthcare remains front and centre in senior leader decision-making.
We are delighted to have Matthew take on the critical role of Deputy Executive Director in our senior leadership team, helping to strengthen clinical academic integration across our partners while ensuring equal value is placed on mental and physical health. Matthew joins King’s Health Partners at a critical time too, as we develop our KHP 2030 strategy. His new positions within KHP and South London and Maudsley will help us achieve more - and have greater impact for those in need. I look forward to our working together.
