PhD supervision has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my career at King’s and I’ve been lucky to work with all my postgraduate students. The chance to accompany a project from its conceptual beginnings, support the gradual emergence of an overarching thesis, and keep faith as it takes flight is both a privilege and a responsibility, especially when working in a minor discipline in the contemporary Humanities.

These awards acknowledge the excellent level of supervision provided at King's and promote and disseminate best practice in supervision. The awards have been run annually since 2006.
King's Doctoral College continue to consider how we can best support supervisors and their professional development, which is one of the key reasons that we are one of five core university partners in the Research Supervision Next Generation Research Project.
The winners of the King's Doctoral Support Awards, Dr Lucien Heurtier, Professor Helen Fisher and Boma Campbell also received their awards during the celebration event in recognition of the support doctoral students receive from staff outside of their supervisory team.
