It is tremendously exciting that the Choir's music will be reaching a new, worldwide audience through its use by Netflix for this film. From the twelfth century to the twenty-first... I wonder what Hildegard would make of her music being featured in a film about a detective's journey through the criminal underworld.

King's Choir soundtrack featured in new Netflix film 'Havoc'
Keep an ear out: the Choir of King’s College London delivers a rendition of 'O frondens virga' in the new Netflix action film, premiering on 25 April.

Advent carol 'O frondens virga', recorded by the Choir of King’s College London, is featured in the new Netflix film Havoc (2025), starring Tom Hardy.
Written by the twelfth-century abbess and composer Hildegard von Bingen, the song is part of the Advent Carols album, released in 2019 by Delphian Records.
'O frondens virga' is often performed by the Choir during the Advent carol services held at King’s Chapel every December. Featured in the best carol services selection by the Guardian in 2017, these services gather around a thousand attendees over three nights.
Havoc, directed by Gareth Evans, tells a story of a detective who ‘fights his way through a corrupt city's criminal underworld to save a politician's son.’ The action film starring Tom Hardy, Jessie Mei Li, Timothy Olyphant and Forest Whitaker will premiere on Netflix on 25 April 2025.
