King’s College London are delighted to offer one student a full scholarship to pursue a PhD study that takes an interdisciplinary approach to community-centred education, conservation and environmental sustainability through the creation of a multispecies ethnography of the Nature’s Valley Region of South Africa.

The aim of this project is working towards healthier and more sustainable outcomes for both the communities and the natural environment through the development of innovative pedagogical practices that promote socially transformative and environmentally just responses in and through education to the triple planetary crisis (climate change, pollution, biodiversity loss).

Working in the School of Education, Communication and Society alongside Dr Marguerite Muller, the student will be supported by experts in the field of environmental education, arts and transformative pedagogy.

The chosen applicant will receive a scholarship covering all tuitions fees, stipend and a generous project allowance.

Applications for the studentship close on 4 April 2025. Find full eligibility requirements and how to apply here.
