Head of Physiotherapy awarded prestigious Fellowship

Professor Catherine Sackley has been awarded Fellowship of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP).

Professor Catherine Sackley, Professor of Rehabilitation and Head of Physiotherapy, has been awarded Fellowship of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP).   

This prestigious award is given by the Society’s governing council to a Member who: has made an exceptional contribution to the advancement of the profession by forwarding the boundaries of professional knowledge and/or furthering the aims of the profession and the Society.

Professor Sackley, an NIHR Senior Investigator whose research focuses on the problems experienced by older people and people with stroke and neurological disease living in the community, said of the Fellowship:

I am delighted. This is an exciting time for physiotherapy at King’s and this award reflects that. I’d like to thank all of my colleagues who have made this possible.

Earlier this year Professor Sackley was announced as the first UK physiotherapist to lead a multidisciplinary global health team and was also awarded the Princess Margaret Memorial Lecture Award by the UK Stroke Forum.
