On Wednesday 27 November, the Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care welcomed colleagues from SJTU School of Nursing and its associated hospitals to formalise a progression agreement for two Masters programmes.

The MSc Clinical Nursing and MRes Clinical Research are now available for high-performing SJTU students, where they will deepen their expertise in evidence-based practice and clinical research methodologies while also benefiting from a global perspective that fosters cultural exchange and mutual learning. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to training the healthcare leaders of tomorrow who will shape the future of patient care, healthcare policy and research.

SJTU is a globally renowned institution consistently ranked among the top universities in the world and is a leader in nursing education and healthcare innovation in China.

The visit and the progression agreement are in alignment with the Faculty's aim to build meaningful, impactful partnerships that benefit healthcare workforce capacity, enhance Faculty expertise and drive global innovation in healthcare education and research.

While in London, the SJTU delegation also visited St Thomas's Hospital and the King's Simulation and Interactive Learning (SaIL) Centre at Guy's Campus, where they had the opportunity to explore the facilities and learn more about King's teaching approaches.

This partnership between our Faculty and Shanghai Jiao Tong University represents a significant step in our mission to advance global healthcare education and research. By combining our strengths, we are creating exceptional opportunities for students and faculty to learn, collaborate, and innovate across borders—shaping the future of healthcare together.
