King's Careers & Employability has signed an memorandum of understanding with the careers departments at Imperial College London and The London School of Economics and Political Science to deliver a new series of in-country careers events that will take place next August in mainland China and Hong Kong SAR.

Building on an existing delivery model that has since 2021 been delivering a range of virtual events on careers in the region with other London universities, and on King's own Focus on China Virtual Fair, the new agreement will see our careers education and employer relationships strengthened in a core region for student recruitment and alumni relations.

Alongside careers fairs to be held in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong SAR starting in 2025, the collaboration will also work on wider initiatives including sharing labour market insight, holding alumni panels and delivering workshops, pre-arrival and introductory sessions to connect with alumni, offer holders and prospective students.

This partnership is hugely welcome in enabling us to elevate further the great work we've been doing in King's Careers & Employability in China for many years. We look forward to working with like-minded teams at both Imperial and LSE, who share our passion, expertise and determination to strengthen our labour market intelligence and employer relations in the region, working with key local partners to provide a range of events and opportunities for King's students and recent alumni in key cities.

Our broader China engagement

Alongside this new venture, King's Employer Engagement function continues to strengthen our own activities and connections in the region and has just returned from two visits to Beijing, Shenzhen and Shanghai which have involved meeting key employers and developing our labour market insight.

We continue to deliver a suite of annual workshops, presentations and virtual events for our large Chinese student population and have developed a self-paced digital pathway, Explore Careers in China, launching in August, which students can take at their own pace to learn more about networks and opportunities in the country.
