Unit Director Jill Manthorpe was keynote speaker at the annual meeting of Lewisham Pensioners' Forum (LPF) which this year was held in the splendour of the Rivoli Ballroom in Crofton Park, South London. Jill shared the platform with Baroness Christine Blower, Lewisham Mayor Damien Egan, Deputy Mayor Brenda Dacres and Chris Best, the Cabinet member for health and social care. The meeting was introduced by Bridgit Sam-Bailey, LPF Chair, who outlined the work of the Forum during and after the pandemic. Over a hundred people took to the dance floor at the end of the speeches to the sounds of a lively jazz band.

Prof Manthorpe is Professor of Social Work at King's College London and Director of the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Health and Social Care Workforce, which is in the Policy Institute at King's.
