About us
The NIHR Policy Research Unit in Health & Social Care Workforce (HSCWRU) at King’s College London is part of the Policy Institute within the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. Our offices are in the Virginia Woolf Building. The Policy Institute is engaged in the translation of academic research at King’s College London for the benefit of society. The HSCWRU develops research knowledge in the health and social care workforce field and to disseminate findings to policymakers, service providers, employers and patient, service user and carer groups. HSCWRU’s Director is Professor Annette Boaz, and Deputy Director is Professor Ann-Marie Towers. Professor Towers is leading the five year project - NIHR Social Care Workforce Partnership at King’s and along with the Project Manager we are seeking an experienced Project Administrator to support this study over the next five years.
About the role
To provide administrative and research support to the NIHR Social Care Workforce Partnership five-year project. The successful candidate will play a key role managing the administrative functions of the project. The post holder will need to be proactive and be able to work independently on their own initiative, as well as part of a team. They will liaise with government bodies, external organisations and internal departments. Experience of working in a university research environment is desirable, but not essential.
This is a part time post (21 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 28/02/2030. The successful candidate will be expected to be in the office around 2 days a week.
About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Good standard of general education to at least A- level or equivalent.
- Good administrative experience.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft packages (including Word, Excel and Teams).
- Strong organisational skills and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work without close supervision and show initiative.
- Ability to work to a high level of accuracy, under pressure of deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable criteria
- Administrative experience within the university sector.
- Experience of supporting event organisation (online or in person).
- Experience of agenda writing and minute taking.
