About the role
The post will report to the Executive Director of Research Management & Innovation and work for both the Executive Director and the Director of Academic Estates Strategy for Health Campuses. The Executive Assistant will be part of the Operations & Strategic Planning Department, within the Research Management & Innovation Directorate and work with staff across the Directorate, flexibly contributing to team-based activities, providing back-up support, and performing tasks on an independent basis.
As Executive Assistant, they will deliver comprehensive administrative and project support, streamlining operations and facilitating the efficiency of the Executive Director of Research Management & Innovation, and the Director of Academic Estates Strategy for Health Campuses in fulfilling their diverse responsibilities.
This is a full time (35 hours per week) post, offered on an indefinite contract.
About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
1. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Outlook (e-mail and diary functions), Word, Excel and internet and utilisation of advanced technologies.
2. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
3. Experience of working on confidential matters; ability to work with tact and discretion.
4. Experience in a people-facing role, using good judgement in handling a variety of situations.
5. Experience of diary management, including making complex travel arrangements.
6. Ability to draft correspondence and to produce well-presented reports and presentations.
7. Effective at working independently and as part of a team to contribute to broader team’s goals and objectives.
8. Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with ability to organise workload and manage competing priorities
Desirable criteria
1. Experience of working within Higher Education or the research sector.
2. Experience of working with global collaborators and partners
