We are looking for a Network Grant Administrator to support the successful delivery of the new EPSRC FoldNetUK project in the Department of Chemistry at Kings College London.
Our contemporary Chemistry Department, based in the Faculty of Natural, Mathematical and Engineering Sciences, provides an exciting place to explore the boundaries of the subject. The Department champions the discipline of Chemistry across King’s, leading with its own research and teaching, and encourages close interdisciplinary collaborations.
Our PGT and UG programmes have been designed to impart a rigorous theoretical and experimental understanding of chemistry, delivered within the context of biomedical applications. We strive to provide students with a thorough chemical education plus a perspective on, and experience of, diverse practical applications of chemistry that lays down a basis for a flexible, interesting career, particularly at the interface of chemistry and biomedicine.

About the role
This position provides an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious administrator to create and shape the supporting infrastructure for a UK-wide, multi-partner network.
This will be a busy role with a varied range of operational tasks and responsibilities including event organisation, budget management, stakeholder engagement and running communication platforms.
FoldNetUK is led by Professor André Cobb at King’s College London, Professor Scott Cockroft at the University of Edinburgh, Dr Sarah Pike at the University of Birmingham, and Professor Steve Cobb at the University of Durham. FoldNetUK is focused on promoting the design, development and application of foldamers towards biology, catalysis and materials. Its primary aim is to bring together interdisciplinary and diverse expertise synergistically to generate new areas of research with foldamer research.
A chief ambition is to reach out to other disciplines who could benefit from the use of foldamers in their research. This interdisciplinary research will be seeded though several activities, such as annual meetings, workshops, and inter-lab visits as well as a strong focus on Early Career Researchers.
This is a part-time post (0.5 FTE, 2.5 days per week), offered on a fixed-term contract for 36 months until the 17th March 2028.
About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience.

Essential criteria
1. Experience of a similar role delivering large-scale, multi-partner projects.
2. Experience of co-ordinating small and large-scale meetings including minute taking.
3. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people in a professional and assured manner.
4. Excellent IT skills, covering Microsoft 365 (including Office) and data management.
5. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and balance competing priorities in a busy and pressured work environment.
6. Demonstrable ability to manage/organise events of various sizes.
7. Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with a high standard of English.
8. Effective at working independently and as part of a team, and able to take a proactive approach to complex problem solving.
9. Experience of financial management including budgeting, forecasting, monitoring and reporting.
Desirable criteria
1. Experience in website creation and maintenance.
2. Experience of using social media for work.
