About us
The Faculty of Natural, Mathematical and Engineering Sciences (NMES) comprises the departments of Chemistry, Engineering, Informatics, Mathematics, and Physics – all departments highly rated in research activities and a wide-ranging portfolio of education programmes.
The faculty is increasingly using Microsoft 365 tools and functionality to support and improve administrative procedure and process with the aim of improving staff experience and increasing efficiency and productivity.
About the role
The Microsoft 365 Developer will use their technical knowledge and expertise to work with colleagues across NMES and King’s to scope out agreed projects and act as a project lead to develop, test, and implement solutions using the full scope and possibilities within the Microsoft 365 environment.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative individual who can work in collaboration with staff in NMES and other faculties to use Microsoft 365 tools to improve control of, and access to, accurate and relevant information and data. There is significant scope for you to input to and improve working practices and processes, information management, and data reporting within the faculty.
The role sits within the Business Operations function in NMES and will work alongside two existing Microsoft 365 Developers. The successful candidate will also regularly liaise with King’s IT.
This is a full time (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an fixed-term contract for 12 months.
About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
1. Level 4 qualification and relevant experience in a similar or related role.
2. Excellent skills and experience of development within the Microsoft 365 environment (particularly SharePoint Online, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI).
3. Excellent spoken and written communication skills, with a high standard of English and the ability to clearly and precisely convey complex information to non-specialists.
4. Experience of relational database construction, completion, and management (including production of documentation and user guidance)
5. Experience of building relationships with a wide variety of service users to understand requirements and translating these to enable the delivery of data focused projects and initiatives that have a medium to long-term impact.
6. Strong numeracy and data handling skills with excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
7. Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of working both independently and as part of a team.
8. Experience of gathering and manipulating data and creation of reports for stakeholder consumption.

1. Experience of working in a Higher Education environment
