The Brand & Marketing directorate leads the college’s student recruitment strategies, and this role is part of the Data, Insight & Reporting team.

The post-holder will use their data management and analytical skills to support King’s College London’s student recruitment activities. They will also deliver, develop, and evaluate the Marketing department's data-related strategies or processes to support King’s Customer Lifecycles.

As a pivotal Data, Insights, & Reporting Team member, they will also work closely alongside the broader marketing/student recruitment colleagues, IT, and other business areas, such as Student Services. 

The ideal candidate will be a passionate, highly technical, data-oriented professional with a good understanding of marketing in a B2C environment and how to use data to support marketing strategies. They will constantly seek solutions and ways to improve existing data-related and analytical processes and be happy to get closely involved in all data-related matters.

About you 

Essential criteria

  1. Technical Proficiency and Analytical Skills: Demonstrated expertise in data analysis and handling complex datasets with tools like Power Query, Power BI, Access, or SQL.
  2. Data Management and Integration: Proven ability to manage B2C customer data, including manual and automated CRM data loads.
  3. Data Segmentation and Transformation: Experience creating, modifying, and enhancing data transformations and segmentation for marketing campaigns and analysis.
  4. CRM and Marketing Solutions Experience: 2–3 years’ hands-on experience with CRM tools such as Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, or IBM, for data management and marketing activities in a B2C environment.
  5. Documentation and Communication Skills: Strong ability to document processes clearly and communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  6. Advanced Excel Skills: Expertise in leveraging Excel for complex data operations and reporting.
  7. Organised and Detail-Oriented: Highly organised, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurate results independently or in collaborative team settings.
  8. Problem-Solving Mindset: A solution-focused approach that identifies pragmatic and practical strategies to address challenges.

Desirable criteria

  1. Marketing Expertise: Relevant qualification or equivalent experience, with a strong understanding of data-driven marketing for campaign and strategic planning
  2. Project Management Skills: Proficiency in managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with knowledge of methodologies like Agile or Waterfall.
  3. Data Analysis and Interpretation: Advanced data analysis skills to inform marketing strategy and campaign planning. 
  4. Communication and Presentation: Excellent presentation skills and the ability to simplify complex technical information for business stakeholders.
  5. Strategic Focus: Proven ability to balance detailed execution with a broader strategic perspective.
