About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity for a clinical academic in neuropsychology (Lecturer or Senior Lecturer depending on qualifications, skills & experience) with strong research and clinical experience to join the Department of Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London (IoPPN-KCL). It is a full-time position shared by IoPPN-KCL with the South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM), with five half-day sessions allocated to the academic and clinical roles respectively.

In this role, you will build a research programme in an area of neuropsychology. If successful, you will attract external funding as principal investigator, as well as collaborating with other research groups.

This is a full time, and you will be offered an indefinite contract

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  1. Doctoral level professional qualification in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy or equivalent) and registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist 
  2. PhD in topic relevant to Clinical Neuropsychology
  3. Ability to develop and write competitive funding applications to a range of research organisations
  4. Ability to produce nationally and internationally excellent scientific outputs
  5. Strong research record, with peer-reviewed publications as a key contributor & evidence of potential to attract research funding.
  6. Highly specialist clinical assessment and treatment skills as applied to neuropsychology and post-qualification clinical experience, working under supervision (L/SL), with experience of providing supervision to pre- and post-qualification psychologists (SL)
  7. Experience of delivering excellent quality teaching or training to undergraduate and/or postgraduate students (Essential for Senior Lecturer, Desirable for Lecturer)
  8. Commitment to improving equality, diversity and inclusion

Desirable criteria

  1. Experience of supervising post-graduate research students (L); experience of supervising DClinPsy research dissertations and/or PhD students to completion (SL).
  2. Experience of designing course curriculum, content and assessments
  3. Post-doctoral training in neuropsychological practice
  4. At Lecturer level: Working towards or planning to undertake the British Psychological Society’s Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN) (supervision will be available). At Senior Lecturer level: Working towards or having completed the QiCN
  5. Recognised HE teaching qualification or appropriate HEA fellowship
