About the role

The London Institute for Healthcare Engineering (LIHE) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Operational Assistant to support the efficient running of our office and operational functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in office management, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role is critical to maintaining smooth day-to-day operations.

This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract for 3 years in the first instance. This role will require full time working on site, 5 days per week.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  1. Proven experience in office management or similar administrative roles, ideally within a healthcare, research, or academic environment.
  2. Strong organizational skills with an exceptional eye for detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  3. Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage time effectively to meet multiple deadlines.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and experience with office management software or tools.
  6. Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.

Desirable criteria

  1. Experience with budget management and financial tracking, with a good understanding of expense monitoring and reporting.
  2. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements in an office or research setting.
  3. Familiarity with event coordination and handling logistics for professional meetings, conferences, or workshops.
  4. Experience working within an academic, healthcare, or MedTech-related organization.
