Kings Food provides a range of retail and hospitality services through our restaurants and coffee shops across The Strand, Waterloo, Denmark Hill, Guys and St Thomas  campuses.

About the role

If you want to work in a friendly fun environment where you are really valued for your contribution, then we may have the job for you. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to join our team as Commis Chef on our Strand campus.

Reporting into the Head Chef , the successful candidate will have a passion for great quality fresh food and be able t work to a high standard with great attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Have experience of working in a catering environment
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Be able to work independently and under pressure
  • Be organised and passionate about food

The contract is offered on a five out of 7 days basis and will involve working evenings and weekends.

This is a full-time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite  contract.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

1.      Educated to GCSE or equivalent

2.      Basic level of computer literacy (ability to access email and online training)

3.      Experience of working in a catering environment

4.      Knowledge of basic food preparation

5.      Knowledge of all food hygiene, health and safety regulations

6.      Experience of producing a wide variety of food

7.      Good cooking skills

8.      Experience of working as part of a team

Desirable criteria

1.      Experience of hospitality and event catering

2.      Hold a food handlers’ certificate
