About the role:

The Cleaning Supervisor will be the operational supervisor of the cleaning workforce responsible for supervising all aspects of the daily cleaning operation and ensuring ‘service excellence’ is delivered in a world class university.

The Supervisor will ensure that all cleaning is delivered safely and in line with both college and departmental standards and that they and their team work collaboratively respecting King’s values and Fit for Kings behaviours.

The supervisor must also be able to provide a hands-on approach when needed to support the team and show a clear understanding of how to deliver the cleaning standards they expect from others.

Positions available are as follows:

20hrs per week Monday to Friday 6pm to 10pm

35hrs per week Monday to Friday  6am till 2pm and 2pm till 10pm rotating every two weeks

About You: (the candidate)

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

1. A good understanding of what is required to be an effective supervisor.

2. Good English language communication skills, including the ability to understand and respond to instructions both written and verbal

3. Good customer service skills with an understanding of customer expectations and how these can be met 

4. Experience in a supervisor role

5. Good cleaning experience with both equipment and machinery

6. Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure

7. Good teamwork skills.

8. Confident in delivering training sessions to the team.

9. Good understanding of COSHH and colour coding

10. Good understanding of safe working practices 

Desirable criteria

1. BICs Licence to practice
