The post holder will work with both the Counselling and Mental Health Support Service and King’s NHS Health Centre supporting a multi-disciplinary team.

We are part of the Students & Education Directorate, a collection of wide-ranging professional services in place to support King’s students and their education. As a directorate we manage the student lifecycle from application to graduation and beyond, to ensure a coherent and seamless student experience and effective administrative processes, working closely with King’s faculties to do so. 

About The Role

The Eating Disorder Support Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the Eating Disorder Team at the University Health Centre and the King’s Counselling and Mental Health Support team. This position involves coordinating care, providing administrative support, and enhancing communication among team members, students, and external partners. The coordinator will help ensure that students with eating disorders receive comprehensive, compassionate, and effective care.

This is an exciting opportunity for candidates looking to work in both a university and NHS setting, and who wish to utilise their skills and expertise in health promotion and liaison in eating disorders . This is an opportunity to grow your skills in proactive and preventative health support with marginalised and minoritised students who present with eating disorders.

This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an a fixed term contract until October 2025.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  1. Relevant work experience and/or education: We think a wide range of different work and educational experiences could support you to be successful in this role. Relevant work experience might include work in NHS , or HE sectors . Relevant educational experiences might include higher education in a related discipline, professional qualifications or other training
  2. Care Coordination: Coordinate the intake process for students seeking help with eating disorders, Schedule and manage appointments for students with the Eating Disorder Team, Assist in the development of individualized care plans in collaboration with clinicians, Ensure continuity of care by maintaining regular follow-ups and monitoring progress.
  3. Administrative Support: Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and treatment plans, Prepare and distribute necessary documentation and reports, Manage the inventory of educational materials, treatment resources, and supplies.
  4. Communication and Outreach: Serve as a primary point of contact for students, families, and external partners regarding eating disorder services. Develop and disseminate educational materials and resources about eating disorders to the university community. Organize and participate in outreach events, workshops, and support groups. The post holder will work the Health Advisor for Mandarin Speaking Students team to create content on eating disorder. Identify and engage the harder to reach groups- ie male patients with Eating disorder , international students etc
  5. Team Support: Facilitate regular meetings and case conferences for the clinicians involved in the care of Eating disorder patients. Collaborate with other university departments and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student health and well-being.
  6. Data Management and Reporting: Collect and analyze data to monitor the effectiveness of eating disorder programs and services. Prepare regular reports on service utilization, outcomes, and student satisfaction.

Desirable criteria

  1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare, mental health, or educational setting, preferably working with eating disorders. Experience in care coordination, case management, or administrative support is highly desirable.
  2. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  4. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  5. Sensitivity and understanding of diverse student populations and mental health issues.
  6. Certification in eating disorder treatment or related areas.
  7. Experience in a university or college health setting.

This position involves working in a clinical office setting with occasional outreach activities across campus.Some evening or weekend hours may be required to accommodate student needs and outreach events.
