About the role

The purpose of this role is to:

(a)    Build brand awareness in the UK and internationally of King’s as a leading university for the study of science.

(b)    Manage and implement campaigns to attract talented students to study our science programmes, including our new interdisciplinary offering such as the new Natural Sciences undergraduate programme.

(c)    Develop, manage and deliver a targeted student recruitment programme with schools, designed to drive recruitment to King’s undergraduate science degrees. This programme will be primarily to teachers and Y11 / 12  students in schools that already produce cohorts of science undergraduates. You will develop relationships with school teaching and careers staff, and orchestrate the contribution of King’s academic staff to the programme, as well as confidently present the case for King’s science to pupils and teachers.

This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

1.      Marketing Acumen: Significant experience in marketing, including developing complex and integrated multi-channel marketing plans, data analysis, and audience planning.

2.      Project Management: Outstanding project management skills with a proven ability to plan and manage activity that delivers complex projects on time and to budget.

3.      Communication: a fluent communicator able to express content in ways appropriate to a variety of audiences. High quality written and verbal skills. Experience in developing marketing assets to drive engagement and action.

4.      Educational Awareness: Experience of UK and / or international education practices. Knowledge of science education at school and higher education levels.

5.      Resilience and Adaptability: Self-motivated; able to deliver effectively despite conflicting pressures; responds flexibly to changing priorities.

6.      Influencing and Managing: able to build connections across functions and act persuasively, exercising influence as well as authority. Extensive experience in effectively managing external partners, including working with media agencies, creative agencies, and fulfilment agencies.

7.      Ambassadorship: represents King’s College London and King’s Interdisciplinary Science in a professional, convincing and engaging manner.

Desirable criteria

1.      Educated in Science to A Level or beyond

2.      Experience of international student recruitment, partnership or engagement

3.      Marketing qualification
