About us:

King's College London is an internationally renowned university delivering exceptional education and world-leading research.

The Human Resources directorate is proud to work with the King’s community to provide academic and professional excellence and an outstanding educational experience for our students.

This role sits within the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion team in HR and its an exciting time to join the team as we expand our support to disabled staff at King’s. We work closely with the Organisational Development team and other HR teams to ensure staff at King’s are supported at all stages of their employment. This role will also contribute to our Disability Inclusion Action Plan which is a shared plan covering students, staff and cross cutting challenges.

Support, workplace adjustments and development opportunities are available to all staff at King’s. We seek to treat colleagues fairly where everyone has the opportunity to flourish at King’s. Our Organisational Development team offers a wide range of courses and activities to support your personal and professional development.

About you:

We are recruiting for 3 roles; 2 general EDI Advisors and 1 EDI Advisor to lead our LGBTQ+ portfolio.

All roles have the same job description and core responsibilities, however the EDI Advisor leading on our LGBTQ+ portfolio will have previous experience in this area of EDI, which should be demonstrated in their application.

These roles are integral to the progress of King’s EDI work, both locally and organisation wide.

This is a varied role which leads on a selection of projects spanning all protected characteristics.

The post holder will be required to use their EDI expertise to provide in-depth support to other areas of King’s and be a named contact for at least one faculty. Support will include researching, planning, developing initiatives, writing reports and problem solving, although the exact nature will vary and require flexibility.

The post holder will also have responsibility for some of our central projects, anticipating (and mitigating against) potential barriers whilst working to deadlines and using data to make evidence-based decisions.

A key part of our work is equipping colleagues with the skills to create an inclusive environment within their own areas of work. This role therefore involves stakeholder management, as well as training development and delivery.

EDI is a rewarding area to work in and this post sits within a dedicated, supportive team. It is also an area that is constantly developing, partly due to a changing political landscape, as well as the growing availability of research in this area. This role will therefore suit someone who is adaptable, enjoys using their initiative and can see a project through to its end.

These are full time posts (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
