About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Director of Portfolio Management, the Associate Director of Portfolio Management  – Cost Control & Procedural Compliance - will lead advise a team of Senior Professionals and Project Managers in the delivery of major capital, estate improvement projects and development schemes across the University’s diverse estate portfolio.

The post will be based within the Portfolio Management Team at Lavington Street (Guy’s Campus) however it is a requirement of employment that the post holder be prepared to work at any additional or different location owned or served by the College either on an ongoing or temporary basis. The post holder will be required to travel regularly between the main site base and other College premises.

The role will require sensitive and collaborative leadership, working closely with stakeholders, to effectively establish, manage and maintain positive working relationships, both internally and externally, to achieve the King’s Strategic Vision 2029.

This is a full time post 35 Hours per week, and you will be offered an indefinite  contract

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  1. Relevant professional construction and property qualification  
  2. Comprehensive technical expertise plus practical knowledge of building construction; including new build and refurbishment projects. 
  3. Budget and finance control and reporting  
  4. Contract and project management.  
  5. Good oral communication and presentation skills  
  6. Ability to produce written reports

Desirable criteria

  1. Well-developed stakeholder management skills  
  2. Articulate, tactful and diplomatic when dealing with staff at all levels 
  3. An organised and methodical approach to work  
  4. Self-motivated and capable of motivating others
