XRthon: XR as a Narrative Operating System

Organised by King’s XR & Attention group in partnership with German XR collective CyberRäuber and supported by King's Digital Futures Institute and Guildhall Music School London, the XRthon titled "XR as a Narrative Operating System" is a three-day event running from 23rd to 25th April 2025.
Designed and delivered by CyberRäuber, the programme brings students from across institutions and disciplines to explore XR tools and accelerate skills development in design thinking with XR while rapid prototyping XR narratives to reimagine how XR can serve as an operating system for spatial narratives. Renowned for their expertise in creative XR design for cultural heritage and education, CyberRäuber employ a unique approach weaving together methodologies from theatre practice with human-cantered design principles. Their innovative work has been recognised with accolades such as the 2017 Halo Award (honouring outstanding European AR/VR/MR works) and Germany's prestigious 'Faust' theatre award in 2024.
