The newly launched The War & State Research Network by Cornell University, King's College London, UCL and Queen Mary University of London will have its inaugural symposium on Thursday 16 May.
Held at UCL, the symposium will hear from representatives from across the network. The symposium includes participants from UCL’s Institute of the Americas, King's Michael Howard Centre for the History of War, as well as the departments of History, War Studies, Defence Studies, and Languages, Literatures & Cultures at the different universities.
The event will feature panels covering the breadth of the research network, including intellectual history, American history, WWII from a global perspective, philosophies of war and state, and ‘New Military History’.
The symposium anticipates a major international conference to be held in New York.
The network is generously funded through the Cornell-King’s Global Strategic Collaboration Awards and the Cornell-UCL Global Strategic Collaboration Awards.
