Professor Jan Klabbers (University of Helsinki) discusses the limits of State-centrism in international law, as part of the Department of War Studies Research Seminar Series, organised by the Law, Society and Culture School of Security Studies Research Theme.

Prof Jan Klabbers teaches international law at the University of Helsinki. He is the author of, among other works, International Law (2nd ed., 2017) and An Introduction to International Organizations Law (3rd edn 2015). Most recently he co-edited The Challenge of Inter-legality (2019, with Gianluigi Palombella).

He is member of the editorial board of the European Journal of International Law, and has held visiting positions at NYU, Sorbonne, and the Graduate Institute, among others.
