Hosted by the Professional Law Institute, we welcome the Net Zero Lawyers Alliance (NZLA), who will examine how legal disciplines must adapt to address the climate crisis. Using the innovative Law and Climate Atlas, we’ll delve into key areas of law—including Public, Company, Environmental, Intellectual Property, and Tort Law—to uncover actionable strategies for lawyers navigating this unprecedented challenge.

This session promises to inspire legal professionals to drive transformative change within their practices and beyond.

Alan Andrews, Interim CEO, Net Zero Lawyers Alliance

Alan brings a wealth of experience in climate law, having previously worked with ClientEarth and Ecojustice Canada, where he spearheaded efforts to leverage the law for climate action. As Interim CEO of NZLA, Alan is at the forefront of mobilizing the legal profession to tackle the climate crisis. 

Darren Broad, Trainee Solicitor, Clyde & Co LLP, seconded to the Net Zero Lawyers Alliance

Darren represents the next generation of legal practitioners tackling climate challenges. As a recent law graduate, Darren bridges the gap between academic theory and professional practice, making his insights particularly relevant for students and early-career professionals navigating the evolving legal landscape.
