Hear from two experts present on their research, practice and experiences on LGBTQ+ women in palliative and end of life care. Part of the International Women's Day celebrations and hosted by the Cicely Saunders Institute.

Dr Donna Wakefield's research interests include inequalities, lung cancer, mesothelioma, bereavement, end of life care. She recently completed MClinRes at Newcastle University and was part of the National Cancer Research Institute Living With and Beyond Cancer Advanced Disease & End of Life Care work stream.
Dr Carey Candrian, PhD is on the National Board of Directors at GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ Equality. She has spent much of her career investigating how healthcare suffers when patients aren’t able to be open with medical professionals about who and what matters most to them. Ultimately her goal is to effect change on an interaction and policy level so that older LGBTQ adults receive the support they and their loved ones want, when they need it most. Her work advancing health equity for LGBTQ older adults has been funded by the National Institute on Aging, the Cambia Health Foundation, The Colorado Health Foundation, The Colorado Trust, The Next50 Initiative, and The Lesbian Health Fund.
