At King’s, we are determined to continue to improve how we undertake research, to ensure our practices are environmentally sustainable. We recently became a signatory of the Concordat for the Environmental Sustainability of Research and Innovation Practice, demonstrating our commitment to taking shared action on reducing and eliminating our negative environmental impacts and transitioning to sustainable practices.

Funders have recently announced policies requiring researchers to address the environmental impact of their work, including Wellcome and Cancer Research UK, who will start requiring accreditation via schemes such as the Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework (LEAF) or My Green Lab.

While the King’s community is already doing much to make our research more environmentally sustainable, there is always more to be done. At this event, you will hear from colleagues from across the University who have made sustainable changes within their contexts, with a focus on lab settings.

You will also hear more about funder requirements and how to get involved in sustainability schemes like LEAF, ensuring your research continues to be eligible for funding.

The event will run from 14:30-16:30, with optional drinks and networking from 16:30-17:30.
